                      The most famous Triple Crown Winners.

There were 11 Triple Crown Winners in history.
They were Sir Barton, Gallant Fox, Omaha, War Admiral, Whirlaway, Count Fleet,  Assault, Citation,  Secretariat,  Seattle Slew, and  last but not least Affirmed.

                                                             Sir Barton
Sir Barton was born in 1916, at Hamburg Place Farm close to Lextington, Kentucky.  He was the son of  Star Shoot. Sir Barton 's owner was J.K.L. Ross. His trainer and jockey was H.Guy Bedwell and Johnny Loftus. Sir Barton entered in the Kentucky Derby in 1919. He finished with the place of 1st, five lengths ahead of Eternal.  After winning Withers race he entered  Belmont Stakes he won 1st again .                              Sir Barton was the first winner of the Triple Crown.






                                                              Gallant Fox
Gallant Fox, was born in 1927, at Claiborne Farm. His owner was Belair Stud. His trainer and jockey was S. Jim Fitzsimmons and Earl Sande.  Gallant's father was Sir Gallahad the third. Gallant won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. Gallant was the second horse to win the Triple Crown races and he got horse of thr year. Gallant Fox reired in 1930. Gallant  Fox died on November 13,1958,  and was buried at Claiborne Farm.






                                                                   Omaha
Omaha, was born in 1932 at Claiborne Farm. He was the son of Gallant Fox. His owner was Belair Stud. His trainer and jockey was S. Jim Fitzsimmons and Willie Saunders. He had only won one race out of nine races. Omaha ran in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. He was the third horse to win the Triple Crown race.








                                                      War Admiral
War Admiral was born in 1934 at Faraway Farm. He was the son of Man O' War.  His owner was Samuel D. Riddle. His trainer and jockey was George Conway and Charley Kurtsinger. He won eight major races including the Whitney Handicap and  the Jockey Club Glod Cup. He raced in  the  Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. He won the triple crown race in 1937.



                                             Whirlaway
                                                                         Whirlaway wasd a chestnut foal born on April 2,1938.
Whirlaway's owner wasCalumet Farm. His trainer and jockey was Ben A. Jones and Eddie Arcaro. One of Whirlaway's fastest recording was was 60:32-15-9. Some of his major wins were Hopeful stakes (1940), American Derby (1941), Kentucky Derby (1941), Preakness Stakes (1941),  and Belmont Stakes (1941). And he won the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Whirlaways earning's was $561,161. Whirlaway died on April 6, 1953. He  was the 5th horse to the Triple Crown.
